    This is utter nonsense. There are plenty of unemployed and underemployed computer scientists, engineers and scientists in THIS COUNTRY who are desperate for work.

    They are highly qualified, but may be missing one or two "skills" on the literally Byzantine list of required skills that have become the 21st century version of a "job description". Some of these Americans are over 50. YES - we "the people" actually expect you to hire Americans first even if they are over 50. If you don't, its called age discrimination.

    Most that are coming in on guest worker visas are lower skilled, younger and lower paid. Its time to hire American's first. It's time to stop this blatant attempt to drive down wages. And its time for industry and academia to stop crying "Wolf!" about a supposed shortage that should be driving salaries through the roof if it were real. They've been clanging the "STEM worker shortage" alram bells for far too long to be taken seriously.

    A new study sheds a great deal of light on the perpetual lie that has been perpetuated for years on end.

    Bottom line: This is just nonsensical corporate pablum. There is no shortage and hasn't been one since perhaps the late 1980s. I'm out of the field now so I'm not afraid to call it for exactly what it is.
