    My guess is that the in-house lawyer that lost his job was likely pressured by the "client" and did not lead the charge to do what was done here. While I could be wrong, all too often, it is the "client" (a.k.a. the internal dude on the business side who pays the bills) who is profit motivated and does not want to admit to having to rectify anything that will impact their budgets.
